FINDING YOUR VOICE – 2008
The
Greater View
"Look
inward" says she
"But
why" ask I
What
am I? Don't I know?
"Look
inward" says she
"But
why?" ask I
Aren't
the answers out there?
"Look
inward" says she
She
stops the noise as I close my eyes.
The
noise has been there so long I have
forgotten
the quiet.
"Take
a card" says she
I
love this part, part chance, part destiny
My
favourite...
"Read
to me" says she
Flow,
commitment, opening the heart, sharing, supporting,
and
finally the great view.
These
cards were meant to be.
"Look
inward" says she
A
while it takes.. to absorb and reflect..
A
much needed "greater view" to remind me of me..
"Look
inward" says she..
"Thank
you" say I....

“I can’t believe
this training has been designed just for me!!
The celebration of
ones’ self as a beautiful human being who comes to work everyday and
who can become sooooooooooo much more! For the first time our
management have given us training suited for women! The first
training on January 14th and 15th was attended
by 11 amazing women! This is spreading like weeds all around and
beyond the Department’s walls. If you do not believe this, just
look around and start wondering about these women who are bringing
their thinking and work habits to a new level – all within! An
experience that defies explanation – because after all – ‘it’s all
about me’, and for you, ‘it will be all about you’”.

FINDING YOUR VOICE – 2007
Attending the "Finding Your Voice" Session, hosted by Cathy
Carmody, has been an incredible Eye Opening experience for me. Taking
responsibility for my actions, speaking my truth, and "waking up" has
truly influenced every action I now take. For the first time in my
life, I know I'm in control of my own destiny, and I know that I have
the ability to accomplish anything I put my mind to. This session has
energized me to no lengths, and I look forward to the continuous
learning, of my now favorite subject, me... All those who I have
contact with, be it at home or work, have benefited from my new
discoveries. Those that know me, know they can depend on me to "tell
it like it is", and that I mean what I say. The results of this are
highly reflective in my behaviors and attitudes. One of the most
obvious changes is that I have been pain free, since taking the
session. I have been in chronic pain for years, related to IBS, and
since the session I have never felt healthier or stronger, in my
life. The discoveries I have made since the "Finding Your Voice",
have been life altering. I have been very privileged to attend, and
would like to show my appreciation by spreading the "word" per se. I'm
looking forward to taking additional sessions, and eventually passing
this wonderful gift of self-discovery on to other woman, that may
benefit though my experiences.

Recently I was part of a group of women who participated in a program
offered by Cathy Carmody, called Finding Your Voice. I was
expecting a program with the same rhetoric about balancing family and
work, instead I found an experience that changed and continues to
change my life. Until participating in Finding Your Voice I
never realized how much of my life I went through on auto-pilot, I did
the same things day after day, without realizing that it was within me
to change things. I relied on external forces constantly, I needed
and relied on the opinion of others, even when it was not what felt or
appeared right for me. I thought it was up to everyone else to make
me happy, and often had conversations with myself which were self
depreciating, you know the ones, they usually start with " how could I
be so stupid", " if only I tried harder", and continue from there.
Since experiencing Finding Your Voice, I have found a new inner
strength, and am more confident then ever. The best way to describe
the change I feel is that for the first time in a long time I am
comfortable in my skin, with my intellect, with my decisions and most
importantly with myself. I notice so much more and want to experience
even more. Everyday I wake up grateful for what I have, looking
forward to what the day may bring. If I want something, truly want
it, and then now I find a way to achieve it. It may take patience and
hard work but eventually I will succeed. I now have the tools to ask
myself the right questions, instead of dwelling on the wrong ones. I
realize that I have so much more to offer if I follow my heart, after
all, the most important lesson I learned from Finding Your Voice is "
It's all about me". And I intend to make sure it stays that way. My
intention is to continue to learn and follow what is truly right for
me, and to not try to be what others believe or think I should be.
I
want to thank those who invited me to experience such an energizing
and life changing gift. And believe me this is one gift that won't be
returned, worn out, or lose its shine; it is however, the gift that
will keep on giving. After all, IT'S ALL ABOUT ME.

"Finding Your Voice"
truly was an incredibly powerful, life enhancing experience for me,
and I'm sure others who participated would say the same.
Over
the last year, I have been faced with many challenges, both in my
personal and professional life. I have worked hard at trying to
overcome them and it has not been easy. The road has been long but I
have made great progress, because I really want to.
At
this point in my life, I can honestly say that I have finally found
the piece of the puzzle that has allowed me to put it all together and
see the real image of my life. Having said that, my life has already
changed and I know it will continue to change for the better as each
day passes. More importantly, I know I can help make it happen for
others too.
I
believe in the work that Cathy Carmody does and that what she said was
right.........."we as women have a huge role to play by allowing
ourselves to be authentic".

My
personal story is one of having overcome a serious burnout in an
Executive position in February 2006. The WEL systems process has not
only provided me with tools to re-vitalize and re-energize my life but
also to take back my personal power and to understand that I am the
creator of my own destiny and that in the choices that I make, the way
I choose to respond and the way I choose to see my personal options -
these choices contribute to the way in which I live in my environment
both at work and at home.
I
also believe that this level of transformation is incredibly life
altering because it is so personal and that in spite of everything I
have ever been taught/told, I bring my whole body including my
personal "self" to work with me every day. The models within the
program provide ways of seeing our own realities and how they are
based on culturalizations that we have grown up with - those rules and
stories upon which our values, beliefs and attitudes are based...some
which no longer serve us.
You
might also be wondering why I would choose to attend another 2 day
session (Finding Your Voice) when I have had the leadership
program. During each experience the journey continues as does my
personal development/evolution. The experience with new and different
women triggers within me "information or energy movement" -
information that generates "new insights" about my self and what else
is possible.
The
amazing transformation that I saw in 11 women sitting through two days
of this experience (Finding Your Voice) is truly unbelievable....and
momentous. Even for those who initially had some scepticism and some
fear about sharing with individuals who are part of their own
organization and the fear of possible issues around anonymity.
In
the two days, not only was a bond created, but also a network of women
who will work together to move forward and make the most of every day
of their life into the future. They now see the possibilities as do I
in "what they didn't know that they didn't know"....and they now know
that "so much more is possible for them in their lives". They now
see how their "Self" is so magnificent and so full of potential and so
capable.

WOMEN’S
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - 2006
I
was given the opportunity to work with Cathy Carmody and Celine
Burlock through a work-sponsored, women’s leadership event, that has
(and will) evolve into a lifelong connection for me. Throughout my
many years of career development, paired with my 25 years of being a
competitive, elite level, athlete, I have been “coached” in many ways
and styles (including Olympic level coaching), and never, have I
experienced the life altering, perception changing, awakening
experience that these two women afforded me. Never again will I
perceive my world the same way, and I would recommend their courses to
anyone, seeking to make significant and profound discoveries in the
way they live their lives.

In
January 2006 I had the opportunity to take a 3-month Women's
Leadership Program through my department. I wasn't sure if it was for
me as I was "only a clerk".
Over the next 3-months working with Celine Burlock and Cathy Carmody,
I totally redefined my life and who I knew I could become. This life
altering program was just what I always needed, yet I didn't know I
was looking for it. My perceptions on life, work and people I come
across have totally shifted 180° from the beginning of the program.
It has only been 10 months since I first stepped foot into that
program room with Cathy & Celine, I have accomplished so much in this
time… and it is only the beginning. These women have invited me to
reclaim my life and create my own future… the potential is Unlimited!

January, 2006, I was lucky enough to be included in a Women's
Leadership Program lead by Catherine Carmody and Celine Burlock, and
since then I have witnessed a profound change in my perception of what
life really is. I observe myself walking through my life and am able
to ask myself, "Is this what I want?" Good, bad, or ugly, I am able to
face, and challenge, anything this life has to offer head-on. You've
gotta like the power of that! Through the no-nonsense approach and
sensitive coaching of Celine Burlock, and the caring and competent
leadership of Cathy Carmody, this stellar team fostered growth you
can't read from a book. I see the sparkle in the faces of my fellow
leaders. For all this, I will always be grateful, and would encourage
anyone to rediscover the lust for life they were born with by engaging
any of their programs.
